動物をモチーフにした彼の作品は代表的なポップアートを代弁しつつ、人間と動物の関係の回復について考え、表現している。
Clo, Hyami, Pandaru, Kokomi, Doma, Taehee, Alice…これらの名前は、全てノ・ジュンの彫刻作品のキャラクターに名付けられたものである。それぞれの個性を持つ可愛らしいキャラクターたちは、子どもを対象にワークショップなどを開いてきた彼の「親しみやすさ、易しさ」へのこだわりを物語るかのようだ。
「私の動物の彫刻はすべて、人体の姿をしている。顔はかわいい動物キャラクターの姿だが、胴体は人の形に似ている。明るい見た目のために、過去に忘れて生きてきた同心に戻り行こうとする意図もあるが、可愛い顔の動物に人の体を許して、彼らと私たちはおそらく1つになることがあるという話を伝えたいと思った。」 -No Jun
His work with animal motifs represents representative Pop Art, but also reflects on and expresses the restoration of the human-animal relationship.
Clo, Hyami, Pandaru, Kokomi, Doma, Taehee, Alice… All these names are named after characters in No Jun’s sculptures. The cute characters, each with their own personality, seem to illustrate his commitment to ‘friendliness and ease’, as he has held workshops for children.
“All my animal sculptures are in the form of the human body. The face is in the form of a cute animal character, but the torso resembles the human form. The intention was to go back to the concentricity that we have lived with and forgotten in the past because of our bright appearance, but I wanted to tell the story that we allow animals with pretty faces to have human bodies, and that they and we can perhaps become one.” -No Jun
