  ”  Lucid Dream ”                                                     

–––––––  Lucid Dream (明晰夢) は、夢を見ている最中に、夢であることを自覚して見る夢を意味する。
たまに明晰夢を見ることがあるが、目が覚めたら夢が現実なのか現実が夢なのか、一瞬曖昧に感じることがある。そんな時、胡蝶の夢の蝶になったような気分になる。

私たちには慣れすぎて、現実と夢の境目を区別できないような状況や物が私たちの周りにあるのかもしれない。

幼い頃から常に日常の中で想像を重ねる習慣が仕事にも定着している。
夢と現実、日常と想像、その中間に私の作品がある。––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––

”  Lucid Dream ”                                                     

––––––– Lucid Dream means a dream that you are aware of being a dream while you are dreaming.Sometimes I have lucid dreams, but when I wake up, it feels momentarily fuzzy whether the dream is reality or reality is a dream.At such times, I feel like a butterfly in a butterfly’s dream.

There may be situations and things around us that we are so accustomed to that we cannot differentiate the boundary between reality and dreams.Since I was a child, the habit of always imagining things in my daily life has been ingrained in my work. My work lies somewhere between dream and reality, everyday life and imagination. ––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––

キム・ソンヨンのアトリエは、小さくて素敵なキャラクターで溢れている。彼らは作家に代わって、いつでも想像の空間へと導いてくれる存在である。どこかにありそうな路地や長い間愛されてきたキャラクターたち、そして作家の描く少年、少女たちが出会い、誰もが知っているようで、予想外の場面を演出する。紙の上の精巧なスケッチに彩色される誠意を込めた数回の筆遣いにより、それはまるで映画の中の一場面のような作品へと完成されていく。

 

Sunyoung Kim’s atelier is full of small, wonderful characters. Characters are always there to guide us into the imaginary place on behalf of the artist. Alleys that could be anywhere, long-loved characters, and the boys and girls drawn by the artist meet to create scenes that seem to know everyone and are unexpected. With a few sincere strokes of color on an elaborate sketch on paper, it is completed into a work that looks like a scene from a movie.
